The Parish of Botha (Derrygonnelly) is an extensive rural parish in the Northwest of County Fermanagh. The village of Derrygonnelly, has a population of approximately 800 and is situated almost at the centre of the parish and is ten miles north of Enniskillen on the B81 road. The parish stretches to the shores of Lough Erne on the east and reaches the Barrs of Boho on the west. According to the diocesan geography atlas “Boho contains some of the greatest landscapes in all of Co. Fermanagh, extending from the well manicured lakelands in the East to the towering limestone escarpments a few miles to the west”. The parish has three churches, St. Patricks at Derrygonnelly, Sacred Heart at Boho and Immaculate Conception at Monea.
