Immaculate Conception Monea also traces its Christian roots back to St. Faber. The present Church opened in 1911, under the supervision of Fr. P.H. McGuire. This imposing building, built in the Gothic style, is the work of the renowned architect, William Scott. Local freestone, faced with local limestone has been used throughout the building, while the roof is covered in small Carrick-on-Suir slates. During the centenary celebrations, the locals proudly recalled their ancestors drawing stones on horses and carts from the local quarries to build the Church. An interesting feature of the church is the rose window in the western gable, with eight panels, symbolising the litany of Our Lady.
